First away game
Mine was Southampton away in the 3rd round of the FA cup in 1975.
I was 9 yrs old. Mike Shannon scored a penalty for them, we won 2-1 if memory serves may have been 3-1.

November 1st 1975

Birmingham City 1 West Ham United 5

Trevor Francis opened the scoring early on, but it was the one way traffic. Alas, as was the case with most matches in those days, I've never been able to find any footage of the match...

September 1985 at Hillsborough. Finished 2-2 with McAvenie and Cottee scoring. Oddly my second was also Hillsborough, this time in the FA Cup Qs later that season (March?) - we lost.

I was ten and remember being amazed with the Hillsborough cop as it went up in kind of curve at the top of one side. Presume its gone or obscured by the roof now.

My first away game was that famous semi final at Villa Park..

We lost 4-1 but was undoubtedly the best atmosphere I experienced from a West ham crowd..

1990 night game and I can't help thinking Morley scored the winner against David James, though I could be wrong.

Stupid bloody allotments.

November 1969 - Southampton away and Trevor Brooking scored.I was the only kid in Claret and Blue in the car park and Alan Stephenson (the centre half)got me on to the team bus as I was too short to get my programme through the window where Sir Bobby was signing programmes...so I sat at the great man's feet and got all the team autographs as they boarded...managed to get my World Cup final programme signed too.
Team that day was

Bobby Ferguson
Bobby Moore
Alan Stephenson
Bobby Howe
Billy Bonds
Frank Lampard (Snr)
Trevor Brooking
Martin Peters
John Sissons
Clyde Best
Geoff Hurst

Can't be 100% but I think it was Palace FA Cup Jan 84, 1-1, I think Swindlehurst equalized near the end. Beat them 2-0 in the replay.

Re: First away game
Nutsin just seen this and it was also my first away game at 12 yrs, was 2-1 Lampard and Gould got ours. We went on to win of course, highlight for me that cup run and I went to the semi and final was watching from the NB beating the Arse at Highbury in front of 57k even though I was cornered at Finsbury Park tube by three gooner cunts who managed to rip my scarf off me.

Funnily enough my first home was against the saints two years earlier which we won 4-3 with Pop getting a hatrick!

Man U away I think. FA Cup, lost 2-0 to 2 Steve Coppell goals. Was bricking it on the way out after crowd trouble during the game.

December 1979 at Charlton, lost 1-0. WHU all over the ground, remember it kicked off quite severely in the home end at one point. Since then I've NEVER seen us win at The Valley, for some reason it's the ultimate bogey ground.

Re: First away game
Ipswich away in late 1985. I was 14 and went all the way up the A12 in the back of my brother's two seater MG Midget, ie there was no seat. I was wedged in the back bit.
Anyway, we won 1-0 with a Cottee goal. Standing up the whole match, singing for the whole match. Superb memories.
